About the Event
Join us on Sunday November 13th to learn how Norberg Hall is advancing gender equality in the art world, and what we can do to make a difference.
Are you thinking, “I didn’t know that there was gender inequality in art!”? Check out this wild article from this past August that opens with the provocative sentence: “Are men 10 times better at painting than women?” and continues on to explain the massive wage gap, and the shocking fact that if women sign their own work, the value actually falls.
This is our very first Learn Something | Do Something event, inspired by Shari Graydon’s Feminist Fridays. In this series, we will meet wavemakers in-person, learn about an issue that is impacted by gender inequality, and be given specific tasks we can do to make a positive impact.
Shannon Norberg, co-owner of Norberg Hall, is a leader in equal representation of female artists as well as gender non-confirming artists, and will show us her work and why her commitment to gender equality in art is important. Shannon has been part of Making Waves since its inception, is a compelling speaker, and a passionate advocate for equality.
