Your Voice Matters

Making Waves is made with, by, and for young women, aged 14-24, who want to speak up and make a difference. At this inspiring all-day workshop, you will learn the importance and power of your voice, why women speaking up matters, and how to make change.

Spoken word is another way to speak up and make waves. Bethel Afework from The Alcove will lead us in an inspiring session on Sunday March 12th at 12 pm , where we will learn what spoken word is, how to do it, and how Spoken Word can help us become more effective communicators.

We will be gathering in Historic City Hall to have a conversation with history making Mayor Gondek, and other female-dentifying councillors.

Join us on Sunday November 13th to learn how Norberg Hall is advancing gender equality in the art world, and what we can do to make a difference.

An inspirational online workshop that encourages young women (14-22) to speak up and take action in what matters most to them.

We will be using Xiran Jay Zhao's stunning YA novel Iron Widow to discuss how Xiran uses ancient Chinese history combined with sci fi to explore themes of feminism, female rage, patriarchy, and how patriarchy is used to dismantle itself.
